In 1993 a small group of independent South Towns restaurant owners met to find an effective way to give something back to their communities. Their goal was to assist neighbors, the people who have contributed to the success of their restaurants over the years. pictured above is our end of 2008 $1000 Travel Voucher Winner, Carol S. of Blasdell, NY. Everybody Wins With F.I.R.S.T.! Through the combined efforts of the members, the F.I.R.S.T. dinner gift certificate program has to date contributed over $450,000 to the Southtowns community benefiting many charitable organizations. Here's How It Works: F.I.R.S.T. provides charitable organizations with any number of $10 dinner gift certificates redeemable at any of the FIRST Group member restaurants. The charitable organizations then sell the gift certificates to the public at the face value ($10). At the end of the promotion, the charitable organization keeps 30% of the proceeds ($3 for each certificate sold). The remaining proceeds ($7 per ticket) and any unsold tickets are sent back to F.I.R.S.T.. Fantastic Benefits For All! Charitable organizations raise funds for their programs. People buying the certificates help support their favorite charities (tax deductible) and enjoy a delicious dinner in one their favorite Southtowns restaurants. AND...each year at our January Meeting, we pull from all the gift certificates redeemed during the past year and award one lucky person a $1000 travel voucher from Trade Winds Travel, Blasdell NY. So be sure to put your name and phone number on the end of the gift certificate before giving it to the cashier. F.I.R.S.T. members and their staffs get to showcase their products and services to their neighbors and customers while helping to support those who support them...the community. |
